“Little” refers to as
something small, not much, minute, token, minor etc. and “Sin” means violating
the law. Though, many people tend to classify sin into sizes but the truth is
this: SIS is SIN. A shirt remains a shirt either brown or yellow.
What made it a shirt is
not the colour but the characteristics. What made a sin to be a sin is not the
quantity/volume/weight but the characteristics. There’s no portion of the bible
that justify a sin with its weight as we do today. A liar and a murderer are
equal sinners before God. Though, many Christians justify themselves because
they don’t fornicate, keep malice, envy, commit adultery etc. forgetting little
sins we no longer count such as:
- · Evil thought
- · Covetousness
- · Envy
- · Business Lie. Etc.
The truth will always
remain the truth regardless of the level of civilization, time or people
involved.
Ephesians 4:25
Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body. (NIV)
Proverbs
12:17
When you tell the truth, justice is done, but lies lead to injustice.
God commanded us not to lie. Whenever we lie, we go against
God’s commandment.
Leviticus 19:11
"`Do not steal. "`Do not lie. "`Do not deceive one another. (NIV)
In Conclusion
It is always better to say the truth and let God fight for
us. In our business dealings, let’s learn to be transparent, in school, work
etc. let people know us to be trustworthy, and by doing so, we’ll reflect Jesus
in our character.
